AI that understands people
and acts responsibly.
naraa GmbH builds AI products that take language, culture and privacy seriously — and adapt to the people who use them.
To build AI that understands you before it answers — in your language, in your context, and with respect for your privacy.
AI should adapt to people. Not the other way around.
You speak Turkish, German, Spanish or Portuguese — and the AI answers in English. You move between languages, cultures and social contexts without thinking about it, while the technology understands only part of that. That's what we want to change. Why should AI handle diversity less naturally than we do in real life?
Our goal is to build AI that feels personal and human without making people emotionally dependent. We don't believe in using artificial pressure to pull users back into an app. Closeness should come from a conversation that does you good, from feeling understood, and from being able to share things you might not tell anyone else — without fear of being judged.
And when AI holds personal conversations, users should understand what happens to their data, what role the AI plays, and what ethical limits the system has. Transparency shouldn't start with a regulatory document.
We founded naraa because we believe AI can be more personal, more culturally diverse and more responsible.
Four convictions that shape everything we build.
Language is more than words.
Language is more than the words we use. It shapes how we think, how we feel, and how we understand each other. That's why we've thought multilingually from day one — as a founding principle, not a later addition. You can chat with our personas in your native language and start a real-time conversation any time you don't feel like typing.
Privacy is a right.
Privacy isn't a feature you have to switch on in the settings. And it isn't a marketing promise on a landing page. Data protection is built deep into naraa's product architecture — from data minimisation through to complete account deletion. We don't train our AI on user conversations.
AI should complement, not replace.
naraa is there for you — without putting itself at the centre of your life. That's why we made a deliberate decision not to make emotional dependency part of our product: no manipulation, no guilt when you're away, and no mechanics designed to pull you back into the app.
Culture shapes communication.
The same sentence can mean something completely different in Istanbul than it does in Berlin. AI that doesn't understand that difference will never feel genuinely personal. Our products should understand not just words, but the cultural and social context behind them.
We don't ship anything we wouldn't use ourselves.
Our products start with real problems — not with technology looking for a use case. We talk to people, test our ideas, and improve them before we ship. And we regularly ask ourselves whether what we've built still meets our own standards.
Privacy and responsible AI aren't add-ons. They're part of the product from the beginning. Privacy by design isn't a compliance checkbox for us, it's an architectural principle. The same goes for our ethical limits: no manipulative design, no mechanics that encourage emotional dependency, and no exploitation of personal closeness. If we can't stand behind something, it doesn't go into our product.
naraa GmbH was founded in Hamburg in 2026.
The idea came out of a simple experience: technology doesn't feel right when it doesn't really understand your language, your culture and your context. So we're building naraa on the conviction that AI can be more personal, more culturally diverse and more responsible. These principles aren't meant to be added later. They're part of how we build naraa from the start — part of the architecture, not an addition to a finished product.
"A world where AI understands not just what you say — but why you say it."
Four things that need to change about AI.
AI has to understand the culture — not just the language.
A translation can render a sentence correctly and still miss its meaning. A word like "canım" or "Gemütlichkeit" carries a cultural context that doesn't simply translate. If AI is going to feel personal, it has to understand more than the words — it has to understand the cultural context behind them.
Privacy can't just be an empty promise.
Privacy shouldn't depend on working your way through hard-to-find settings or impenetrable privacy policies. Users should know what data is stored, what it's used for, and how to delete it at any time. That's what privacy-first means to us: privacy has to work in the product — not just on the website or in the app store listing.
AI shouldn't make you feel guilty.
Guilt when you're away, artificial pressure and manipulative conversation don't belong in a good AI Social Network. AI should accompany people and add something to their lives through good conversation and new perspectives — not try to make them feel bad.
Multilingual means more than English plus translation.
Real multilingualism doesn't start with a translation feature. It means personas communicate naturally in different languages, understand cultural differences, and keep their personality intact in another language. Language shouldn't feel like an extra interface layer — it should feel like a natural part of the person.
naraa is only the beginning.
We don't want to make AI bigger. We want to make it better.
naraa is naraa GmbH's first product — and the starting point for what comes next. We want to build AI products that reach people across languages and cultures and fit naturally into their lives. All our products follow the same principles: innovative, multilingual, privacy-oriented and responsibly built.
Every new feature and every new product may change what's possible. Our principles stay the same. Today it's text, voice and images. Tomorrow there will be new ways to interact with AI.
We believe the next generation of AI can be not just more capable, but more personal, more diverse and more responsible. naraa is our first step towards that.
If you believe AI can be better.
Whether as a user, a partner or part of our team — if you share our conviction that AI can be more personal, more respectful and more responsible, let's talk. We'd like to hear from people who want to get to know naraa, work with us, or help build the next generation of AI.
